Babylonstoren Farm Hotel
Less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town lies one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms, Babylonstoren. An unbelievable setting, top-quality accommodation, wonderful hospitality, and famously fresh and delicious food makes this property an excellent choice for exploring the Cape Winelands and nearby towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
At the heart of the farm is the 8-acre formal French kitchen garden. The Babylonstoren chef visits these magnificent fruit and vegetable gardens daily to pick fresh produce for Babel Restaurant, and you can join him on a garden tour and pick a few veggies of your own. Mountain bikes are available for exploring the farm, visit the Tasting Room and Wine Cellar, or enjoy a Hammam treatment at the spa.
Accommodation options include farmhouse suites at the hotel, as well as 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom farm cottages. The suites and cottages have beautiful gables, thick, whitewashed walls and hearty fireplaces. Each cottage also has a glass-encased kitchen with amazing views of the garden and Simonsberg Mountains. An abundant harvest table breakfast is served every morning in the greenhouse. All in all, Babylonstoren really is food for the soul!
