Chiawa Camp

The family-owned and operated, multi-award-winning Chiawa Camp rests on the pristine banks of the Zambezi River in the renowned Lower Zambezi National Park. The thatched and tented camp are constructed of natural materials making the camp blend into its surroundings. Each of the luxury tents boasts spectacular views over the Zambezi River and its vast array of resident wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, hippos and much more.

Chiawa Camp comprises of nine gorgeous canvas tents on wooden decks spread out along the river. Each of the tents has a comfortable king-size bed draped in Egyptian cotton and an ensuite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The chefs at the camp take immense pride in preparing delicious cuisine. Meals are usually served in the open, and vary from a plated meal or a delicious buffet, depending on the day’s activities. Dinner is a more formal affair and consists of a 4-course meal served under the stars at the boma or on a sandbank in the Zambezi River.

The game here enjoys free access between the Lower Zambezi National Park and Mana Pools National Park on the Zimbabwean banks of the river. Wildlife commutes across the Zambezi often through the camp. The camp offers game drives, informative bush walks, canoeing excursions, fishing expeditions, river safaris and even star gazing!
