Kulala Desert Lodge
The luxury Kulala Desert Lodge is situated in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve; staying here will mean that you will be only a few steps away from the red-tinted Sossusvlei dunes. This desert accommodation with its North African inspired décor uses a combination of clay and thatch in keeping with the hues of the landscape.
Not only will you be on the doorstep of the desert when staying at the luxury Kulala Desert Lodge, it also has its own gate into the Namib Naukluft Park for the road to the iconic Sossusvlei dunes and Sesriem Canyon. This makes it quicker for you to get there in time for sunrise!
Sleep comfortably in one of the 23 thatched luxury chalets on their wooden platforms with flat rooftops, which allows you to sleep under the stars. Kulala Desert Lodge offers a spacious open-plan bar, lounge and dining area, with tall thatch and wooden-beamed ceilings and glass doors. The main lodge areas flow out onto an expansive wooden deck with views over the nearby watering hole, as well as a feature splash pool.
Breakfasts are hearty buffets. If you are staying at the lodge for lunch, there’s a delicious selection of cold dishes on offer; and dinner is, of course, a luxury 3-course affair. Spend your days on game drives, visit the tallest dunes in the world or go hot-air ballooning over the Namib Desert. Grab some time for yourself to look at the awe-inspiring vastness of the desert on your doorstep.
