Suspended up above the Ngorongoro CraterThe Highlands sits on the slopes of the extinct Olmoti volcano. Its location guarantees maximum privacy, an unforgettable adventure and various activities which are not possible elsewhere in Ngorongoro.
Inspired by the shape of the traditional Maasai homes (bomas), the 8 dome tents were built and placed delicately on the slopes of the Olmoti volcano, taking full advantage of the breathtakingly vast views. Each dome offers a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom facilities, a private deck and a wood-burning stove for cooler winter evenings. At the heart of the camp, a library, bar, and campfire, which is popular with guests when they return from spending the day out in the bush.
Game drives and crater descents are offered – a highlight for the majority! The camp also offers Olmoti nature walks, visits into the Empakaai crater (a nearby crater famous for its pink flamingo), and community and cultural visits to see the local Masaai villages.
